How to add custom URLs to your portfolio posts AND how to add hyperlinks

In this video, I take Cadia through how her Featured Work section connects to her portfolio, and how to fix links that aren’t working, including:

• How to edit her About page and locate the Featured Work section

• How portfolio items are structured and where their links come from

• How to check and update a project’s settings (thumbnail, title and URL)

0:10 The links to my featured work from the about page specifically are not working. So let me. I thought what I'd do is I'd take you through, uhm, how this works and I think it might help you also in future when you are maybe adding new featured work, uhm.

0:28 So now I'm in the about page and I click edit and then I can see, you know, there's the section here.

0:35 I'm assuming you're going to put a picture of yourself in there and then again here we can remove this page, I mean this section, or we can keep it there.

0:48 Uhm, the question The core values looks really nice, it works so well. Uhm, this obviously will work well for a, uhm, testimonial.

1:00 Then the featured work, okay, so. There is a link here that goes to the example content, and then, uhm.

1:13 Uh, we can put a link on the picture, and we can put a link here. So, first of all, let me just go to Your Portal.

1:21 And I'm going to Heavy, because this is what I think. is, I think, is the one that you have worked on.

1:33 So, first of all, I'm going to go into that section. And click on these three dots and go to settings.

1:40 So, I can see that you have put a thumbnail here, which is awesome. Okay. Then you've put a title which is great.

1:50 Uhm, now I'm just gonna put this title as well in the URL, so it'll be for the So you in and save that.

2:03 You can also edit the date on this. If you click on status, let's make it more current. It's a bit of a hack you have to kind of run through all of these.

2:14 Uhm, it won't. Yeah. Anyway, let's make Let's go to 2025 and let's go to, like, September. I'm just gonna pick it.

2:28 I'm gonna pick a weekend here. And click save. And then what that does as well, we can also drag it up to the top, so that it's the first one there.

2:43 Okay, so let's go out of here. Uhm, okay, so we go to the about page and then I'm clicking on edit and then I'm going to go back to the to this kind of featured work section and I'm going to select the text and then click on this hyperlink.

3:13 And I'm going to hit forward slash, portfolio. And then I'm going to say forward slash, heavy. Now, these might not work until the site is actually live.

3:29 It should work. Uhm, and then I'll keep it on. We want to toggle off open link in a new tab.

3:38 Because as long as it's staying on your own site, uhm, it's not necessary to toggle that on. So that's there.

3:46 Okay, and then let's also add it here to this image, so we can click on edit the image, and we can attach a link.

3:54 And again, we can just put forward slash portfolio, and then we can also put heavy there. And then, just save that.
